“The madness of love is the greatest of all the blessings.” Hera said.
Madness in her art, she has perfected what I call a rarity in her pieces. Madness is art perfected by Susanna Galanis. Art that strikes people to find that tiny spark of madness within themselves as well– a contagion. Her passion transcends through every chain linked and every bead captured.
Chained into her jewels, I become transported to her world — forgetting the cold streets of New York. Opening my eyes I only see Ancient Greece.
“Faraway places and civilizations, the Gods and Goddesses, The Kings and Queens of ancient Greece, and all the drama and glory from the past, are my inspirations,” Susanna says. Wherever I go, it’s a whole new era as long as you are wearing her pieces.
Capturing not only her passion in the midst of her jewels, I was able to grasp her brand’s story as well. “While I was working at Versace and Bergdorf Goodman, I was wearing my own designs that I was creating as a hobby. The demand of stylists, editors, celebrities and clients was so high that I was inspired to start my brand in 2004. For 2015 I am planning to grow on national and international sales [wholesale and online retail ], increasing distribution with the lower-priced, more commercial line [ xoxoSusanna collection] , and open a Susanna Galanis retail store in NYC.”
A true pleasure from a friend and a classic, you’ve blessed my wardrobe with a touch of Greece that I will forever be grateful for.
In collaboration with Susanna Galanis as seen on Gossip Girl The Series.
