For someone very Grey ( no pun intended), my day is actually quite black and white. I rarely get days where I’m free to randomly and impulsively roam or as I call them, grey days. My moleskin is something I can’t live without. And so my usual day goes hand in hand with a cup of coffee in one and my moleskin on another ready to make mistakes, conquer, build and repeat, day in and day out.
9 am: First thing’s first, brew. I like my coffee strong, dark and 8 cups in. 3 sugars and iced on some occasion but mostly plain.
9:30 am: MORE COFFEE, clearly.Still in my sleeping clothes and not complaining one bit. These bottoms from A.R.T. has been an extra dose of sun to my morning. The fabric of these lounge wears are way too comfortable making it super hard for me to get out of them.
Today’s goal: clear out inbox before noon. Clear out the important tasks now and leave the rest for the day’s flow.
11:30 am: Skype sessions, phone conferences, mood boards for shoots, pulling pieces and speaking to new clients. Perhaps also the best time to take a stroll down the Meatpacking district – my favorite part of the city.
12 noon: Choose an outfit. Figure out the weather, even though the weather has absolutely no say in what this lady wears. Today, I prefer wearing something that isn’t going to melt my skin off completely. Perhaps the perfect time to pull out a top from A.R.T! A little color never hurt anyone after all. On days like these, I prefer conquering in classy Pajama pants paired with this pleated blue cami. The low back is perfect for the laid back look I’m rockin’ today.
2pm: As far as I’m concerned, there’s no such thing as eating on time. You eat when you’re hungry, whatever time that may be. I don’t believe in scheduled lunches. If you haven’t tried Cafeteria, you’re missing out on the best Mac and Cheese New York has to offer.
Fred’s at Barney’s has one of the best vegan meals and pumpkin pastas to offer. If at first you failed to try these places for lunch, it would be a shame to fail again. I may be skinny, but my palate isn’t, that’s for sure.
4pm: Perhaps a cold brew sounds fantastic right about now. Being that there are tons of cafes in New York, it always makes deciding hard for the general public so let me narrow things down and tell you that La Cerra Cafe has the grandest coffee I’ve had in a while.
5pm: What’s a day in the city without stops at Soho’s cool kid corners like Aesop and my all time favorite yogurt palace: Chobani. Their Pistachio and Chocolate yogurt is something you can use to bribe me with. It’s to die for.
6:30pm: But the fun is just beginning. Most end their days at 5 pm, I don’t have an end to the hustle. Designer events start now. I must confess that the train has never been fond of me. I do try to take it as often as I could but the cabs and myself get along much better. Switching gears and getting more comfortable in Street People Atelier’s comfy classy tee’s. I thrive in the city’s energy. Street People Atelier and I do it best together.
7:30pm: Visits in the upper east side never cease to leave me in awe. It’s a whole ‘nother side of New York. Walking through Prada and Hermes, Gucci and Valentino for a little inspiration after a few meetings.
8:30pm: Chelsea Market has the best dishes to offer for dinner. From Spices, to Italian, to Seafood to Indian, to the best desserts and Gelato, it’s the best way to end my day.
10pm: Coming home to a special package from Stanford University to top off as the cherry. The best packages aren’t pieces of clothing or jewelry, or gifts, its seeing yourself inspire others with what you love doing. Hi mom, I’m on Standford University’s Magazine featuring the dress you made me back when I was 7.
