I’ve had my fair share of that party-and-hangover cycle. Waking up with a gigantic headache, a crying wallet plus hardly remembering anything all came with the young ( er) me. It also came with not entirely knowing what or who I wanted to be. It came with the need to fit in and please everyone. Now I could care less.
I’ve embraced being different and being different got me turning out okay in life. Coffee wins over clubs and rooms full of strangers. Netflix and Thai take outs on the couch any day over late night bar hoppings. I’d rather go to meaningful gatherings with people I care about than dress up wearing pounds of makeup, short dresses and 6-inched heels to go out and party with people who barely even know me. Old school hip hop has my heart. EDM was a stage I now don’t get. I spent most of my time planning my next getaway instead of texting everyone to dive into 10 feet of alcohol at happy hour. Experiences to remember for life over 10 minutes of drunk laughter only to wake up barely remembering anything.
