The funny thing about always going, is you start wishing to stay , for once.
Art Basel was both eye candy and soul food for me being that it was my first time getting dipped back into the Arts, full throttle. Yes I was there for the hundreds of exhibitions and artworks and get cultured like the finest yogurt there is but secretly, like any other babe going to a beach, I was really there wanting to be at the beach.
Sadly enough Mother Nature decided to literally rain on my parade – flooded the whole parade even. I was homesick.
A little quick fix by Las Olas ~ a local hole in the wall famous for their fruit shakes and empanadas was nothing but a bandaid to my weather blues. It wasn’t enough. One day I was on my way to empanada haven and stopped into a Zara finding myself walking out with shopping bags full of turtlenecks and blanket scarves. JEANNE WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!.. Hashtag Sorry not sorry but I simply couldn’t have helped myself even if I tried. Right then and there I came to realize that I was a walking New York: busy, time ticking, hot one second and then freezing the next and craving ( always craving ). Funny thing about the things you once used to hate ( like the cold weather) : you start missing them, then grow into them until you just plain and simply start adoring even the worst of things about them.
