Today I am a professional digital marketing expert and a professional pooper scooper too. The day I took Stormy home, was the same day I vowed to forever pick up and clean after her.
It used to give me so much anxiety as I got used to my busy schedule and taking care of Storm in her puppy phase. (I’ve never picked up poop ever before.) It’s been 9 nothing short of amazing months since and I found myself sitting next to her on my floor one day, observing how much has changed since.
Here’s what Stormy has taught me ( Who’d think, right?):
1. Patience
You’re speaking to a very not-so-patient person here. Like a Mcdonald’s-is-too-slow-type of impatient. Can you imagine coming home to a ripped wee-wee pad that’s gotten dragged all over your newly vacuumed carpet? On top of all the poop that’s gloriously now sitting on your fresh carpet? Yes. Cute came with a price. She taught me to chill. Like realllllly chill. She’s a puppy. Puppies will rip thing, mess things, and ruin your nice carpet. This is where the next lesson comes in.
2. Responsibility
I’ve already wanted a puppy to raise. Ever since I learned what a puppy was I would beg for one. Puppies rip thing. It is your job to keep things away from them instead of leaving things laying around and then yelling and screaming afterwards. She never means it.
3. Simplicity
Think about it. All she’d ever want is your attention. Some food. Water. And tons of play time. Nothing more. Doesn’t that make your heart melt? It makes mine super soft.
4. Time
To make time for the little things all over again. For walks to go get ice cream. For the park. For love.
5. Love anyway.
She never picks and chooses who to play with. Whoever you are, if you’re my friend, she’s you’re friend. She’ll offer you her best and most favorite toy there is to come play together.
All she ever wants is me. I’ve never had anybody who is so into what I do every second of every day, who follows me around everywhere I turn, who always wants to be with me and is overjoyed to see me the second I opened the front door. I’m her entire life. She’s only a portion of mine. She’s changed my life. And in return, I can only love her back – pooper scooper and all and share these values one dog has taught me.
These photos were all thanks to the bag of treats.
xoxo,
