Escape to Bermuda, because why not?
- Because Bermuda is only an hour and a half plane ride away from New York city.
- The beaches are really pink ( they really are).
- There’s a mountain of activities to do while on the island.
- It’s where the seafood is freshest ( I mean, the fish sandwiches are simply to die for).
- Because there’s something for everyone.
My sister and I are such beach fanatics. From swimming in the lagoons of the Philippines, to diving into the Pacific seas of Indonesia, to dipping our toes into Caribbean island waters, we are constantly in search of the next best ocean to swim in. Opened our maps and thought hard as to where we could be mermaids at next.
Until our eyes met at one point of the latitudes. We automatically booked it and jumped right into the ocean right when we landed.
What to do in Bermuda:
- Have lunch at Woody’s and order their Fish sandwich in raisin bread. A true Bermudean would tell you to do so too!
- Set your alarms to dawn and grab a horse at the Spicelands Equestrian. It’s the perfect way to tour the Bermudean shores.
- Go beach hopping and see how many beaches you can hit in one day! ( We bumped into a cave and swam in it all afternoon while watching the sunset.) What could be better?
- Do a day trip to St. George: Bermuda’s first ever city! This colorful city will blow you away!
- Stop by at the Perfumerie. The history that place has will make you fall in love with every scent they make in house!
- Experience 45 minutes in a whole new world! Book an excursion with Hartley’s Helmet Diving and be one with the creatures of the sea ( while keeping your hair dry and breathing steady like you’re on land!).
- Stroll down Hamilton’s main streets and do some local shopping! My favorite store was Urban Cottage! The cutest boutique I’ve ever come across. I fell in love with everything instantly.
- Stay at The Rosewood Tucker’s Point Resort and experience old English charm with a view. The attention to detail, exquisite service and amazing amenities will make you wish you never had to leave the island.
- Go swimming in a little cove : Jobson’s Cove has my heart.
- Be a traveler, not a tourist. Experience Bermuda locally during your stay. You won’t regret it!
Make sure you tag #GoToBermuda when you travel ! I’d love to see your photos enjoying the island as much as we did!
