I used to be all about the application process. How to create the perfect brows, learning the correct way to contour, figuring out which products and colors work well with my face shape. All of that came to play in all my Sephora adventures. I may not have perfected most of these make up tricks, but now it’s become all about perfecting the cleanup technique instead.
From someone’s standpoint who slept with makeup on almost 80% of the time, grew up with terrible acne, and who got irritated by all my mother’s excessive amounts of skincare bottles in the bathroom of which their names and ingredients I couldn’t pronounce, I’ve learned to grow curious.
Curiosity killed all these bad habits when I stumbled upon K beauty products ( which by the way, I now swear on).
Dr. Jart has become a huge part of my life ( and bathroom vanity cabinet). I may not still fully comprehend every ingredient on the back of every bottle, but Dr. Jart’s Ceramidin collection makes it so easy for me to know exactly what goes on, through and out of my skin with such simple well known ingredients and easy to follow instructions.
Welcome to my night routine:
1. Dr. Jart Derma clear micro water to remove all gunk, dirt and cosmetics you’ve pounded on top of your face.
2. Dr. Jart Derma clear trans foam clay all the way. It cleans like a cleanser but penetrates deep into your pores for that super cleanup you need after 10 hours of makeup from a mask! Only takes 3 minutes.
3. Masks are a pain to take off. A little tip I’ve learned is to use a Muslin cloth to fully remove the product while slightly exfoliating your face during the process. Instead of a toothbrush to exfoliate, I love using this to wipe off the dead skin from my lips.
4. Scrub. Lips need loving always. To get that smooth Kylie effect, I use Make Beauty’s marine lip scrub.
5. Now that I’ve got a clean slate ( literally), I got ahead and start the best part: moisturize!
6. They said the skin you care for in your 20’s will be the skin you live in during your 30’s. I start with Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid! Let that dry up and layer on —
7. The Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream. These correct your skin’s hydration and nourish the cells in your face to promote a healthier and more youthful glow while you sleep!
8. Lastly, I add on Make beauty’s marine salve to penetrate into my lips right after exfoliating! It’s minty feeling is the best for plumping and hydrating my pout!
Great makeup is never great without good skin underneath. This routine has created a much smoother surface for me to create on :).
