I love you all and I’d be lying to you if I said I’ve been on top of every day of the week, especially Mondays.
No matter how much you love your job, you’ll always slightly dread Monday ( and if you say no, you’re slightly lying). It’s that sad nagging wake up call to get back to reality after two days of nothing and that my friends, just tends to suck all of the joy out of your Sundays most times. Growing up I always wondered why we had to plow five days out of the seven and only enjoy two out of it. No fair. But it doesn’t have to be so depressing. Here are a few things to do to make Mondays your new favorite day!
1. Do something fun on Mondays!
Varick and I enlist Mondays for datenight! This gets us extra excited to go about our day and then spend after work together. Whether its out watching movies, dinner or whatever, it’s something “weekend-ish” that get you out of the Mondaze.
2. Prioritize + Organize = Kill It.
After the two days of nothing, Mondays always feel like a hug slap of work. Mile long coffee lines, never ending to-do lists and forgetting your keys while you’re running late. Have post its ready ( color coded , if you may ) and prioritize what needs to be done. My favorite app for tasks and time management is: Swipes.
3. New Music
Find new music to walk to for your commute! Freshen your day a little.
4. Book fitness classes for the week!
Maybe pilates or barre class! Even kickboxing! This will bring confidence during your work week and create new vibes for you.
5. Set an alarm. For Bedtime.
I’ve felt so much better waking up after snoozing in earlier the night before! Getting your 8 hours of sleep before midnight feels so different from getting the 8 hours after. Set an alarm to be in bed by 9 pm. From there read a book, drink some tea and wind down.
