*A non fashion related post to throw you lovelies off a bit.* After years of trying to find the perfect shade and brand of foundation, I met Kat Von D’s Lock it Tattoo Foundation. Literally locking in every imperfection my face held, it held intact every pore I wanted to hide. Just as I got lucky with this amazing product, I found out that perhaps that’s not all that’s important. Maybe pores and blemishes were just as beautiful. Make up is a powerful tool and a wonderful way of enhancing your beauty. While it can give you a confidence boost, it should never become a crutch or a mask to hide behind. Mentoring high school senior Destiny for her graduate project has opened my eyes to what beauty is. Kat Von D, you’re not 100% right at all though I still do love your product. #SorryNotSorry Here’s a few more distorted views on beauty:

If you can’t beat ’em , join em, as the old saying goes. She’s narrow minded, arrogant at times ( most times), hard headed and has tendencies of cold heartedness. Mother nature is not to be messed with. Especially not in the brutal tundra that is New York City. Being that this was my first February experiencing Fashion Week, and being that the biggest dilemma is usually contructing outfits, I resulted to do an all white look ( for the most part of the week.) Maybe if I blended in with the snowflakes, maybe just maybe they won’t attack me.

Why is pink associated with Hallmark’s favorite holiday? Why do we need chocolates JUST on the 14th of February? Why can’t chocolate sharing be a non occasional “thing”? Has it all simply become a thing? I wrote about romance two months ago. About it’s ability to have disintegrated throughout the generations but hasn’t really left. Do you think romance has become the awkward in laws that only come to visit once a year? So many burning questions. To answer a few of those myself, I have decided to wear black this year. No dresses, no red or pink, no fluff, just a classic look of black and white. Simplicity never gets old, and goes for this vintage skirt by Marc Jacobs which I’ve decided to pair with my Very Honey Silver pieces, topping it of with the dark shade of ‘Creature’ by my good friend Eugenie Grey on my lips. This year, let’s break rules and melt hearts with Very Honey. With simplicity amongst their designs while keeping only the most perfect quality of Sterling Silver, Very Honey proves that romance shouldn’t be limited to cupid’s day. Their hand made sterling silver and all edgy pieces go for any occassion! * Guys, are you paying attention?* At this point, forget the chocolates plus wine ( Although a dinner at a Michelin Star restaurant does sound rad.) O Let’s break Rules this Valentine’s day and not hearts. Chocolates say ” last minute”, and Tiffany’s says ” you just simply didn’t put any thought into it.” Very honey’s pieces are feminine enough to say SILVER with just that right amount of sparkle added to match her eyes when she wears them. Too corny for y’all? I shall then leave it at that. Skirt by Marc Jacobs Lips : Creature by FeralCreature Jewelry by Very Honey In Collaboration with Very Honey.

It seems as though the entire world has taken back the 90’s trend of neck hiding. I mean, since it’s cooler to tuck hair and cover necks, just as it’s become a trend for gas prices to be cheaper than guacamole, I guess it’s safe to say that the 90’s are back! My one reason for my obsession with turtlenecks leave it narrowed down to one: It’s cold out and this actually wams me up. What’s yours? Sometimes the clothing actually does its purpose well enough that I forget what’s trendy and what isn’t. Truth be told. Salsit never fails me. My Go to store when I’m out in Los Angeles and have the Eastern New York winter syndrome aka having packed all my sweaters and mittens with no good clothing any californian would approve of. Or if I’m home in my apartment stuck and snowed in with that itch in my wallet swelling up telling me to online shop. It’s the answer to all my wardrobe worries. This particular pieces has got me hung up and drunker than the usual on turtlenecks. I have made it double purpose to maximize it’s true meaning in this life. I have created a shress out of their Rodell dress. For now enjoy those gas prices with a side of guacamole. More on Salsit during my upcoming trip to California!
