I’m deep down in the dizzying depths of an extremely busy week ~ and like most East Coasters [New Yorkers] , when life gets extra harried, i resort to wearing mostly black ( and some greys haha) . Hey, it’s easy. Strolling around in oversized greatness , different shades of greys and blacks and some really comfortable pair of Asos drop crotch joggers I picked up a few weeks ago at one of my shopping crawls down SoHo. Mixing different materials of the same color and adding an insane statement piece makes all the difference. Thanks Jannel for the photos! Cannot wait for our next catch up coffee date. xo,JG

After one too many mornings where I would wake up to a 1970s Acme Fright Wig stuck to the top of my head, I chopped my hair off. As much as I would love to say “it’s just a haircut,” that would kinda be a lie. If you cut your hair to a chin length, there is a part of you making a statement. There’s something about it that seems fearless and bold. The shorter you go, the bigger the statement. You’re going against traditional stereotypes of what it means to be sexy and there’s a little hint of taboo appeal to it. I have had shorter hair in the past – shaved the back of my head and whatnot but after years of the no hair game, I have decided to grow it past my derriere, as the French would put it. Although my fashionable friends would keep telling me to cut my hair off again, I always put it off. If I’m being honest, I was afraid. Especially because I have created my “look” for the modeling agencies. A look that is versatile enough only given by long hair. I was afraid that I would look like a man in my shoots, I was afraid my photos would look different and the brands/ photographers I work with wouldn’t be too happy with it ; that no one would find me attractive and that I wouldn’t be able to do anything with it. And then one day I chopped it all off at work. Yep, I chopped my hair at work. Having had the asymmetrical bob a few months ago, I always was too scared to cut the front shorter but this time I went for an all time short – the shortest I’ve gone since I was 6 years old when mama Grey used to chop poor Jeanne’s hair. Surprisingly enough I’ve never felt more revived, more refreshed and beautiful. I was inspired enough to ask my followers about why they love their short cuts. Here’s what they said: “Low maintenance , very chic. In a way, it shows a lot of courage since it is very seldom for a female to cute her hair off. Bad ass. ” -Nikki @nicolettekezia ” I was super scared at first but now I have never loved my hair more. No risk, no fun.” -Stefanie @nhitastisch “It is so freeing and easy…

Jeans- these days we find ourselves wearing them tight and skinny. However, there is a fashion-forward alternative that makes you feel just as comfortable as you are in your favorite pair of sweats: the boyfriend jean. Introducing one of Evolve Clothing’s new pieces and incredibly comfortable, ready to wear with whatever: The Boyfriend Jeans. Think of that comfortable pair of too-big jeans you stole from your boyfriend, but fitted for a female body. The jeans are a medium wash, which I paired with their black satin scoop neck crop top from YA Los Angeles clothing. To create a more tomboy feel less dressy ‘fit, I paired it up with my Jays. The structure is much like a pair of men’s jeans, but it is more structured at the waist. The leg opening is less baggy as well, just a tad tapered in order to be tailored to the curvier shape of a woman. The jeans are perfect for spring, as they look best pin rolled. The boyfriend jean is a popular bottom that can be seen on runways and retailers alike. The loose yet feminine feel of the jean allows them to be combined with a myriad of tops. Depending on which shirt you choose, you can transform your look from sporty to girly, from dressed up to dressed down. If you’ve been following me before, you’ll know that I hardly ever wear heels, or follow fads. I love comfort. I used to be all about discomfort for fashion but I found other ways to stay fashionable and stay comfortable as well * grandma stat. I enjoy being in gladiators or Nikes. I hate complicated. I hate thinking. I wash my face, forget to do my hair, pull out a white shirt and leggings or loose jeans and go. Primmed and well put together is out the door. Undone and raw is what’s in. Try it out. The title of this post comes from this obsessed-with song ~ and yes, this is most definitely my favorite sweater these days. worn with my these white high waisted skinnies , and my all time favorite purse. Basically, i’ve had this total combination on repeat a lot lately. Decided to stay at the Upper East side throughout the day and visit the Guggenheim since it’s too sad that I live around the area and I’ve never been yet. The art was beautiful but typical. What astounded me more was it’s architecture and structure. Then decided to stop by the Jackie O reservoir in central park! Mondays are usually date nights but he surprised me with an early one this week! Picked me up from work and just really dragged me to Gypsy Warrior and had me changed and ready for the rest of the day! The ladies at GW had me draped in a little black blouse. The piece was a timeless classic, fail-safe basic. I couldn’t have agreed more than the LBD type blouse. It’s the sexy staple, the standby showstopper ~ the sort of thing we all need. With tiny touches of gold and bright shaded tones, there’s really no way you can go wrong with a LBD.
