I had so much fun collaborating with Ryan Chua over fashion week last week! Photos and the whole Fashion Week Wrap up next on my blog! But for now, I’m not an expert at tackling the Monday Blues but from experience, mind over matter and a few of these below have helped me. Adjust your thinking Mondays are my favorite day of the week, which may sound a little crazy to some, but to me they feel a little like fresh starts. Whatever the high and lows of last week, Mondays are a blank page to start the week off as you mean to go on. Instead of resenting the end of your weekend, try and feel excited about the beginning of a brand new week. Be productive If you found the time to unwind and relax at the weekend , you most likely will be feeling super recharged come Monday. Utilize these productivity levels to stay focused throughout your work day so you can catch up with any overdue deadlines, be more present in meetings, and tick off everything on your to-do list. Make the time to connect Human connections are vital for our happiness, so make sure you’re making the time on Monday to reconnect with the people around you. If you work in an office maybe check in with how your co-workers weekend was, or if you work from home maybe Skype call another working-from-home friend to catch up and check in. Don’t just reply to emails on autopilot Monday morning for me always means one thing – emails. Taking the time to not just churn out replies on autopilot makes all the difference I’ve found – it means you are a pleasant part of someone else’s day when you arrive in their inbox, and you’re also paving the way for better communication between you both in the future. Whether it’s freelance clients, co-workers on a student project, or maybe a team you manage, remembering to stay human in your replies makes the whole process a whole lot more rewarding. Tackle your least favorite tasks of the week This is something I try to do every Monday, as that way I’m making my life easier for myself for the rest of the week. By tackling the more tedious but pressing tasks on my to-do list on a Monday, I end the day knowing I have more enjoyable tasks ahead…

Next to a Louboutin Shoe sale , Fashion Week has got to be the next most hectic day in a fashionista’s life. Relax and Breathe, it’s only fashion. What Blasphemy of a sentence is that? I jest. This year, I am saying no to sweating in between shows due to running from tent to theater. This year I promise my toes less blisters and more walking which my wallet will thank me for in the latter part of the week ( bye bye Uber ) . Yes, Life will be good. Fall’s a tad late this season thanks to mother nature’s bipolar extremities. New York has been hot and dry this past first day of the Fashion Season. A good hydrating spray preferrably Mac’s Matt Fix+ Spray on hand, a rejuvenating essential oil by Lierac of Paris ofcourse and some old fashioned waterproof mascara by none other than my favorite Make Up Forever and you’re ready to take on the 7 deadliest days of New York. ( Keep cosmetics to a minimum. Bare face and dark lips please.) In Collaboration with Christian Dior. Thought I’d take this sunny mid-week opportunity to sit down and talk about some of the frequently asked questions I’ve been getting across Tumblr, Twitter, my inbox, Instagram and blog comments over the past couple of months. The last time I tackled a Q&A, I did a good amount of answering and thought you guys had a ball at reading my answers as I did answering them. So why not do a round two, right? I’m just going to spiel, and over the course of reading, I will hopefully cover all of your inquiries about my job, my degree, my blog, my height, and my eyeliner secrets. Before we head onto that, let us marvel in this beautiful piece from Miami Posh Boutique. This dress came all the way from London. I’ve forgotten how beautiful and elegant a simple dress can make one feel. -When are you coming to Amsterdam? Hopefully soon. The whole city seems incredibly inviting that I have to make a trip soon! -How would you describe your fashion? Clean and masculine. I feel that dresses are a little overrated and that more women should grow a pair and rock HIS stuff because we actually wear them better ;). I keep things clean as well. I can’t leave ripped jeans just that. I would pair it with a tailored button up top. – If you had to spend 5 years in jail, what would you finally have time for? 5 years is a long time. I already have a good amount of time in my hands but I would probably think of some ways to start my own cosmetic or clothing line and have someone run it for me while I am in jail until I get out. -Did you ever consider your career to go down this route when you were younger? I am still undecided about what you want to do but you inspire me so much and have really helped me shape the love I have for fashion. No. I wanted to be Pocahontas when I was 4 years old, and all I could remember was how that was always corrected into ” Be a Doctor.” Slowly as I grew older and realized Pocahontas was just not happening, I aimed to become someone in the fashion industry just like my mother. I did not think I was going to be where I am now when I was 4, but I had a good feeling…

Make up changes your mindset. The power in lipstick ~ one smear and you are ready to face the world with open arms. The right heels and you’re a new woman ready to take on what life gives off. Then there are jeans: The perfect pair worn and I feel unattainable and unstoppable. Dressing up has become a source of power to me. To the public’s naked eye, it may seem strange that at 9 a.m. in the brittle day light, the world half asleep and literally half the earth still dozed off, here you are in a full outfit, dashed in heels, rouge lipstick and your bright orange Birkin tote. To the public’s naked eye the burning question of : “Who is this girl dressing up for, to impress at 9 am” , is inevitable. Nobody. Not for him and most definitely not for the other girls. If women felt the need to dress for male’s attention, heck we might as well not wear a thing! If it were for other women, no woman is going to ever get it right then , is she ? The power of an outfit it much more powerful than you think. A ton of you will agree. Then there will be a few handful that will subtly laugh at this remark. But these are the same handful that will test this theory out first chance they get tomorrow morning. But let’s focus. An outfit makes you feel like you are yourself. It makes you feel focused. Glorious. A risk taker out ready to take on the day’s punches. Rock the outfits ( the crazier, the better. forget the rules.) Life serves the risk takers. Stay Bold Loves! Here it is! Something I’ve wanted to share since we shot it! The more I work locally to build GreyLayers, the more I come to realize that the East coast is such a breeding ground for some of the industry’s greatest talents. It’s something in the water – or something in the light, perhaps. Maybe early swims in the ocean build our creative brains. Who the hell knows. I just know I like it. A few weeks ago, I was the biggest dork pinching myself to be working with one of the world’s most celebrated brands, and a fresh face co-host . Yes it’s a dream. Or it feels like a dream. I am hosting Gypsy Warrior‘s first ever blogger styling event. WHEN: August 24, 2014 WHERE: 2pm-5pm at Gypsy Warrior’s Hoboken New Jersey Location : WHAT? A creative concoction full of bubbly, cupcakes, and goodie bag giveaways. An afternoon filled with guest bloggers, photos , free wardrobe styling and meet and greets! Come hang out with Taylor and I and meet the designers and mastermind sweethearts of the brand, Gypsy Warriors. Writing that down just made it real. I haven’t stopped pinching myself since their email. A little sneak peak of the photoshoot done by Vogue Published photographer Denisse Benitez with my cutie co-host model and actress, Taylor Lashae . See you all there!
