Because there are none. My friends will never understand the idea of a home-cooked meal at 7:30 pm followed by some HGTV for dessert over an EDM concert day in and day out ~ nor will my boyfriend ever really understand how on earth it’s possible to create a look with a dress and a pair of pants. Same goes for collaborations and the psychobable of how only certain people should work with “their kind.” NO. Just because we are in our twenties, does not mean there is a rule of constant racket, beer pong and repetitive tumultuous house music. Alongside the subject of collaborations: Collaborate with people who speak an entirely different language. Collaborate with people who aren’t your age. Work with those who don’t come from the same “range of work” as yourself. Every person you meet tells a story and is a story. They all have something to bring to the table. As for Shresses, well, they have a mind of their own and will one day just find their way to become a crop top or even a jacket. Who on Earth knows. The idea is to think beyond your comfort zone, go beyond what is known to you, explore the weird horizons that the common mind would never think to. There are no limitations. This dress here for instance, now a shress is cut in a very feminine way. If you all know me by now, I love blurring the lines that define what masculine is and what femininity should be. Again, there are no rules. Have fun with it. Lynn of ChicpeaJC, the sweetest most open minded lady I grew incredibly fond of, fell in love with the twist on her little ‘fit during our little collaboration together. She dared to stray from her comforting vintage pieces and went all lathered in leather and Zara , finishing the look off with these fiery red pumps. No rules. And the ones that exist are meant to be broken. At the end of the day, it’ll either be a lesson, a blessing or even a bangin’ outfit. In my case, it was all three, plus a new friend. There’s nothing that gets me more excited about Summer than a hot afternoon breeze, a clear sky and a nod to the Hudson River in the form of printed summer scarves and flowy ( if that is even considered a word.) maxis draped down. Whoever said it to be wrong for scarves to be worn in the summer time is out of his mind. Scarves, let me correct you , is an accessory and not a piece of clothing. Accessories add to your outfit. They are the condiments to your creation. I promise everyone that sweat is out of the picture. There will be no sweating involved. Above the Clouds is one of my favorites from them yet, and is definitely playing a part in the planning process of a summer getaway trip to the boarders of the Florida Keys. Can you imagine? Roaming the narrow and white bleached alleys of the resort by the sea – body swimming in this printed glory? It would be perfect paired up with a 70’s inspired high waisted swim suit. Yes, please. For now, the walls of Brooklyn are keeping me grounded along with these awesome sandals from Urban Outfitters. First summer rule to rule summer with a good pair of woven gladiators. Black, preferably. Black is a friend to every color, every pattern and every personal style. Black is your friend, and so is this scarf. Thank you Printed Village for the lovely gift.

There is nothing more comfortable than being comfortable in your own skin and in whatever you want to wear. These pants are like comforters on my legs ! A lot of girls say they will NEVER wear sweatpants or will NEVER do this or that and that to me is so boring. Try it out. Experiment with the apparel’s comfort. Once you go ‘comfortable’ , you never go back. These harem pants were hidden in a corner of Beacon’s closet and were such a steal for the price of $10.00. I’m pretty sure it belonged to some Indian woman. Skipping the whole Indian look I topped it off with a leather crop from Urban Outfitters and gladiators . Here’s a secret : The body chains are two separate necklaces! What are some of your most comfiest pieces you can’t live without?
